EndeavourOS

On daily basic I use EndeavourOS on my laptop and it is great distro.

Haha, that’s what you think. You use garbage, sir.

But thanks for mentioning it in the very beginning of your article, there’s no need to read further.

If someone uses Arch-based distribution, it’s a pretty solid point for that person being not too competent to listen to their opinion on operating systems.

Installing Arch Linux is very easy, you just need some basic understanding for that. And due to the nature of the distribution, it makes no sense to use a distro that is built upon Arch Linux. Which means why would you read the author then?

It’s nice to have plenty of experience with Linux, so to undersrtand it thoroughly and be able to filter what others say.

Arch-based distros are garbage1. They’re for pretenders. For wannabes. Arch Linux isn’t that complicated, and you pretty much need to understand it if you want to run a rolling-release distro.

Debian-based distros aren’t like that. But I’m not too sure 🤫

I’ve came from Hacker News2, and there are opinions that Arch may be bad as a server.

Yeah, as if you actually tried that first 🤡

It may be unsuitable for a server indeed. But I run Arch Linux on some of my servers, and the oldest one was installed in 2019.

I’m betting my $2 banknote that it will work in 2029, and 2039 more likely, if the hardware won’t fail by then. It’s stable enough, and minimalistic too.

FreeBSD is a great system. I’m not arguing with the point it’s cool for a server.

Unfortunately, I have no hardware for FreeBSD as of now. And mostly no use too, my Arch-based or Armbian-based systems work very well. And honestly, I seek no alternatives.

I’m interested in reading opinions on FreeBSD, it’s interesting to learn what people think. That’s why I opened the link in the first place. It’s just my knowledge suggested me it’s pointless to read further. This article isn’t worth any attention.

  1. I guess, SteamOS is an obvious exception here, but it’s not purely an Arch-based distro normies install to get the elitist vibes. I’d call it a separate distro Valve creted for their SteamDecks. As much as ChromeOS is a Gentoo-based distro, yet I’d call it a completely separate and mostly unrelated project. ↩︎

  2. I wonder at what point I’ll stop reading that orange rubbish, I just need to find something to replace it with. It’s not so easy, since I replaced other things with it already.

This linked post, is a low-effort waste of reader’s time, I’d say. Even author himself admits it↩︎
