BBC is beyond pathetic.
For example, read this piece: How the Trump-Zelensky talks collapsed in 10 fiery minutes
I’ll take just one quote, to show the sheer incomptence of Mr. Bateman and Debusmann.
At one point later in the conversation, Zelensky said: “From the very beginning of the war, we have been alone and we are thankful.”
This angered Trump, who has repeatedly framed the war as a drain on American taxpayers.
“You haven’t been alone,” he said. “You haven’t been alone. We gave you — through this stupid president — $350bn,” Trump said, a reference to Biden.
Did they? Did they give Ukraine $350 bn, actually? No, they did not. They gave the US workers more work, to be able to produce some weapons they then — hesitantly and very slowly, much later than it was expected and needed — provided Ukraine.
And it was much less than that. If I’m not mistaken right now, it’s less than $100 bn.
Why does BBC not fact-check the blabbering that leaves Trump’s mouth? Huh, Mr. Bateman and Mr. Debusmann?
And it looks like it’s the best journalism we have right now. It’s just pathetic. That’s why the conspiracy theorist media and all ruzzian minions has taken so much power.
Okay, not just one piece, take a look at this HN thread, where the original BBC title stays unedited:
Zelensky leaves White House after angry meeting.
Compare to what they updated it with:
Zelensky told to leave White House after angry spat with Trump and Vance
It’s fine they corrected their mistake, but the original titles tells volumes on how ‘unbiased’ this media is, and about its ‘standards.’
I’m so much disappointed with them.
